Where is it?

Jujuy is a province ubicated at the nort of Argentina. Its capital is San Salvador de Jujuy. It is located in the Northwest corner of the country, limiting to the West with Chile to the trifinio cerro Zapaleri, where begins its border with Bolivia


A little of History

At the beginning of the Spanish conquest, the current territory of Jujuy was populated by various indigenous villages. The territory was dominated by the Omaguacas, Ocloyas, Churumatas and the Jujuyes, from who derives the name of the province,
The region was part of the Virreinato del Perú up to 1776 and in November 18th of 1834, Jujuy and its zone of influence proclaimed the autonomy of the province, separating from the province of Salta.
